This project involves the creation of a detached home office and artist studio in the garden of a North Vancouver residence. The design incorporates the creation of a roof deck over the studio which is accessible to the main living areas of the house, thereby maintaining one hundred percent of the usable outdoor space available to the residence. The north wall of the studio consists of frameless glass panels facing a densely planted light well, while the south and west walls open up to the garden through the use of folding glazed wall systems. The resulting environment is one which feels more like an outdoor garden setting than an office. When the whether is dark and gloomy outside, the large expanses of glass allow ample natural light to create a bright and functional working environment
